I think it has benefitted us and hindered us. By moving away from laissez-faire economy we have taken away the management knowledge that is needed at the top level. With our mixed economy we have many entrepreneurs failing with their businesses.

I don't think it has benefitted the American society. There still has many business in America and I don't think the government should control business because someone in the government may be bring nation money to their business and use that money run their business. If they do that, there will be more problem about business than it has today.

I think moving away from Laissez-faire has hindered  the American society because the government can be too involved with businesses which can cause problems.

I think that it helped us at first, but now the government is getting so mixed up trying to micro-manage everything. We may have needed their help back in the 30's, but now we've became a bunch of babies. I'm not saying they should completely step out but they should refine their system. There are people who take advantage of government money.

I think the hole hands-offs deal was working pretty well. Now the government has stepped in and is using our hard earned money for taxes to bail out banks that shouldn't be in the woods in the first place.

I agree with Erika. I think it has hindered us because the government is sometimes to involved in peoples businesses and this cause problems throughout the United States.

I say no, because I think now the government has become to involved with our businesses and has caused some problems.

I agree with Andrew. I believe that it helped us at first, but that the government should back out, not completely but quite a bit. In my opinion, the government has gotten too involved in our businesses, and it's causing a lot of them to fail.

Like a bunch of my fellow classmates have said, I think at first it was needed to get our country off to a good start but now that we are "doing better" I think the government needs to back down and let economy go the direction it naturally goes. I think the government has its own problems it needs to take care of.

I agree with Erika. Moving away from the laissez-faire has only caused our government to become too involved not allowing management to take control.

I agree with Vinny, we were doing fine until the government stepped in, took our hard eraned money and bailed out all the banks.

i thank that the government should just leave us alone because we where doing just fine in tell the came along

American government should not be participating in the business cycle. Businesses should be able to pay the consequences for their mistakes.

Robert Cowan said...

I think it has helped us because it has let us learn from our mistakes and let the mistakes correct themselves.

I agree with Kirsten and Erika. The government is getting to be too involved and it's turning into a bad thing.

I think moving away from the Laissez-Faire has hindered the american society. Sometimes the government gets too involved with businesses and want to completely control them. We needed there help a long time ago but now they are becoming too involved.

I disagree with Ashley. Just because. Anyway....I agree with Jake. By moving away from laissez faire economy we are taking away the management knowledge that's needed.

I believe that to some extent the mixed economy has been good for our economy. Regulations on business regarding safety, taxes, and other things help keep the work environment safe, and keep an even and level playing field to ensure even competition. However I don't believe that the government should be as involved as it is.

I agree with Jakes comment. I think going to a mixed economy has hindered and helped us. We are alowed to make our own decisions on some things, but that is not always a good thing. We have so many buisinesses that get shut down and some that prosper.

i think the government when it started interfering with the economy was helping but they have gotten to involved now and i think they should back off and be so interfering

Kayler said...

No. Straying away from the founding principles of our economy has only caused problems. We need to be capitalist or comunist, nothing inbetween.

The government should let the American businessman figure out their own problems. If they started it they should be responsible for how it ends. How else do we learn what works and doesn't. it also might have kept us out of debt...

If we continue to have a mixed economy then how will America ever learn to progress on its own? When we depend on the government to bail us out every time there is a problem. We need to learn to start something and finish it. It shouldn't matter what the outcome is we just need to depend on ourselves and not the government. Otherwise or economic status will never improve.

I agree with vinny the hands off role was working well then the govenment stepped in and now America is broke

I think by moving away from lassiez-faire theory, we become exactly what we didn't want to become which was a Socialistic nation, all of which the people have chosen to do........

Jeniffer said...

i agree with Jake because it has taken away from us n small businesses has bin failing fairly quickly

I believe that the move away from the laissez-faire has done more damage then good. Some of the governments regulations protect our workers, but the cost of their involvement is too heavy.

I agree with Jake to many our of businesses have failed due to moving away from a laissez-faire economy.

I think that the US should have a mixed economy. Having regulations on businesses helps us as a society in a way so we don't have the things that happened back in the day like with the meat packing plant. I do believe that the government may be doing a little to much on regulation and becoming to picky which hurts the business.
